The Viva Boot Camp
This is an anaesthesia viva course for Advanced Trainees in Anaesthesia about to sit the FANZCA part 2 viva exam.
Essentially my aim is to teach all the techniques and verbal skills that I was taught during my study for the part 2 exam.
I want to teach all these things so you know how to use these skills much much earlier.
The session will be very interactive and we will run through many cases using these techniques to give you a good understanding of how to use them.
A few examples of what I will address include
- How to speak eloquently when faced with the most challenging cases, with no clear best practice answer
- How to address multiple priorities in a case
- A framework for challenging inductions
- Professional documents
- Crisis management …. And more
You will also receive a comprehensive set of written practice vivas with marking schemes to practice these techniques with your colleagues and tips and tricks leading up to the exam.
I believe all these concepts are reasonably straightforward. So with a bit of guidance, practice and minimal extra knowledge I want you to be able tackle this exam with more confidence and articulate the knowledge you already have with precision.
